Texas Chainsaw Mascara - Nervousmaker approved!
If you’ve seen any movies by Bill Zebub, you no doubt either love them or hate them. You either think he’s a true genius or a deranged madman…or maybe somewhere in between. But the one thing anyone who’s seen his work has to agree on is the fact that he’s making movies his way, and what comes out the other end is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. (And if you’re not familiar with his work, assume they are some of the most metal movies out there and go to www.billzebub.com to learn more.)
Mr. Zebub is working on a new movie, Texas Chainsaw Mascara, but don’t let the title fool you. This is not a parody, this is a horror movie. And, as always, the director is working outside of the system, which means that he can do it his way without studio interference. It also means he needs a little help with the budget.
Every crowdfunding campaign Bill Zebub has put on has been successful (when they haven’t been cancelled by the hosting website), and part of the reason for this success is that he puts out real, tangible perks. Not only is the movie essentially up for pre-sale, but he has boxes of random DVDs available, t-shirts, and his own books (fiction and non-fiction). He’s also offering a budget-friendly digital download perk this time around, just in case you think you’re above physical media now.
So check out the Kickstarter campaign here, and take a look at the goodies offered for your happiness…and make sure to note that some of the perks (t-shirts and books) are available as add-ons, but not on the main page, so don’t get confused.
