World Premiere - Ben Schatzel’s Remission
Do you like movies? Do you like scary movies? Do you like monster movies like John Carpenter’s The Thing or Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead? Do you give a fuck about the world you live in, about keeping our planet viable for future generations like your dumb ass kids and their icky offspring? If so, have I got something special for you!!! (And if not, why are you here? I’m sure your church is having an AR-15 giveaway tonight, why not go there and get fucked?)
Remission, a short film written and directed by Ben Schatzel, premieres July 1st, 2022, at 12:00 PM Central Standard Time via the Stacked Deck Studios page on YouTube (that’s tomorrow at noon, if you’re reading this today from my time zone! Go here to like the page and get notifications of when it pops up!!!). While this is Ben’s directing debut, he’s no stranger to the weird and wild world of film, having worked on independent films in a producer/actor/production assistant role since the mid-2010s.
Summary: Remission is a sci-fi environmental horror which takes place in a remote research facility in Antarctica. Oliver and Maggie Rothschild, leading virology researchers, discover a rare virus which may permanently change our planet.
